I started riding in the early 80´s on a Kawasaki enduro (175) before graduating to a Suzuki enduro (185). By 1985, after moving west to Calif. I decided I wanted a street bike. While at a bike race at Sear´s Point in Sonoma Calif., I was thumbing through the latest copy of Cycle magazine and came across a full page spread of a new Yamaha street bike just released. A week later I strolled into a Yamaha dealer in Santa Clara and purchased a brand new YZ600R (Radian) in midnight blue with a baby-blue airbrush on the bottom half of the tank. It had black enamelled crank-casr, engine block and frame and was accented everywhere with gold lettering, pinstriping and boltheads. The valve covers were even gold, a beautiful little "screamer" that I had several years of intense enjoyment with. In the late 80´s I had to move back east so I sold her and did not own another until this past August when I purchased a brand new Honda ACE750 Deluxe in Candy Red with gold pin stripes. My first cruiser which I must say, I absolutely love! I already have close to 4000 miles on it and ride it every chance I get. Believe it or not, I just rode it last weekend (Jan. 4th & 5th)! The Gods were truly smiling upon me as it is usually bitter cold around here at this time of year!
