Steve Hansell
Retired Space Shuttle Propulsion and Payloads Engineer (MPS/SSME/PLM). Lived and worked at Kennedy Space Center, Fl. 1981-2004. First race, 1974 Hare Hound, Montgomery, Al. Took 2nd place losing to the Suzuki Dealer's Team bike. I raced a box stock 1973 Suzuki TS185 with one nice addition, the factory Hop Up Kit "Down" pipe. It was faster than any bike in the 200 class that I had to race in back then. Earlier in life I lived in Apple Valley, California (near Victorville) in 1965. That's about the time guys were just getting started on the British Thumpers, Desert riding was really taking off. Due to an injury to my low back in 1999 I can no longer ride on the Race Track, so I work on the bikes and keep my "stable" going as best I can! Jumping to present day, the bikes are all in better shape than I have ever had them. I own 9 bikes currently but I rarely ride them except I have to once in a while to keep the engines fresh :)
