📍 Haarlem, Noord-Holland, Netherlands 📅 Riding since 1999
Had the pleasure of riding a YX600 Radian for four years. I put a lower handlebar, small fairing and other cosmetic stuff on this little rascal. The Radian turned out to be fast, fun and frugal. Too much fuzzy plastic detailing form the only downside. I set up the Dutch Radian fansite. A BMW R80 came next. The boxer type engine underwent a complete overhaul and the bike was rebuilt into a cafe racer. I added old-fashioned fairing and saddle bags. I like its built to last charisma, clean design and ergonomics. It is a bit sluggish and less economic compared to the Radian though. The R80 is joined by an even older Moto Guzzi Imola. Its 350 cc engine was enlarged to 430 cc. Lot´s of character, lot´s of noise too because of the custommade exhaustpipes and mufflers. Eventually swapped the Imola for a Monza stripped version with Harley exhausts.
