My son was riding a bicycle with no training wheels when he was three years old. He has always been a daredevil and fearless. He is now seven and recently took an an interest in motorcycles. We looked around a little and ended up getting a used 2001 Yamaha PW80. We started riding in a flat field close to our neighborhood. As his confidence grew we moved to another spot close to our house that was a little more technical. This is where he learned to jump using a small hill we found on the property. Shortly after this, my son began asking to race. We did some research and found a MX track about 30 minutes from our house and spent a few weekends there learning the ropes. After a couple of months, the track where we had been practicing announced that they were going to hold a spring series race. We signed up and enterd into the 65cc beginners class. My son took 2nd place overall! We had a great time! This sport, although a little nervracking, has provided a great opportunity for me and my son to spend some good times together.
