📍 Honolulu, Hawaii, United States 📅 Riding since 1964
I´ve ridden bikes for over 40 years. I raced Motocross, Flattrack, TT, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, and some Road Racing (not much the track here is total crap and I only recently got a decent bike for it) I built a Suzuki GSXR 711, a 92 750 frame with Race Tech Suspension, the wide rims from a 1100 GSXR, and a heavily modified 1100 engine bored and stroked to nearly 1300cc´s! Stuffed into the light, nimble 750 with zero extra fat added. I built it like a dirtbike. There are no instruments but 5 LED´s for indicators, a Stack digital speedo thats 3 inches long by 1 inch wide mounted on a 3/16ths thick alloy plate by the key. No body work but the pieces that go below the seat and to the taillight. A headlight from Acerbis for a dirtbike makes the bike weigh less than 400Lbs! The engine has Yoshimura heads, cams, 40mm Mikuni CV carbs a Yosh Ti full system, ignition advancer and High Output coils completely rewired the bike increasing the wire size and soldering all connections. It put out 171 HP when it was fresh! It´s a real handful, and a lot of fun to ride. It will run with any new literbike easily and the fact that I made it makes it really feel good. I put just under $2,000 into building it and with it polished and painted with black base and pearls over the black it looks sharp! Unfortunatly I crashed it a year ago, nearly killing myself in the process.... it´s now bright yellow with blue pearl and candy apple blue contrasting color. Still a good looking bike but no where near as good as it was when it was black with blue anodized chips buried under clear and blue pearl and purple pearl. That was a eye catcher.
