New rider, got the hang of it quick, but still inexperienced enough to have laid down the bike twice already. The first time I got caught in a torrential downpour less than 5 miles from my house (almost made it home!) hit railroad tracks and my front wheel flew out at around 15-20mph. Hydroplaned for about 15 feet - no injuries to me or the bike besides a few minor scrapes (wearing normal clothes!). The second incident was at an intersection late at night that was undergoing construction - a lot of dirt on the road I didn´t see until I started turning. Again, front wheel went "see ya!" and dropped me at like 10mph - bike almost literally fell on top of me. Again, no injuries besides the equivalant of rug burn on my knee on the side that went down. But my engine casing cracked just enough to leak out all the oil :( Any other newbies reading this - RESPECT YOUR BIKE! It doesn´t take much to go down on two wheels. Keep your eyes on the road and stay sharp. I´m definetly investing in frame sliders... :P
