New rider from the Ace Deuce. I have 3 70´s era Honda CB´s, ´71 500/4, ´76 500/T, ´76 550/4. The only streetable one is the two tone 550. Even that one keeps givin´ me shit. Fortunately none of it is powerplant related, all electrical crap and brake trouble, stuff like that. The 550 was literally pieced together with parts sourced from at least 5 different bikes, so some shit´s bound to go wrong. The last one is that ´71 500/4 that we dragged back to my crib. Keep checkin´ back, I´m changing things on the new 550 all the time, as you can see from the photos so far.. The previous owner will never recognize it. He rode it in its´ previous incarnation as a stock 550 before he messed it up and sold it. My shit now! July ´06 Update: Started looking at the 550 for what it is, a decent runner but a mutt with now something like 7 bikes´ parts used here & there. It´s no classic. This is a rat custom with hints of cafe here & there. I loathe stock bikes, especially CB models. So now it´s more like a rat racer. New pics of what I did to it in the next month.
