📍 United Kingdom 📅 Riding since 2000
Had the VTR about 2 years now and done a few mods in the time, the cans were first and on went a a pair of second hand ART cans, they give a very deep sound and a pop on the change down but the neighbors dont like them i think. The second mod was a new GIVI rack and box (50 LTR), these things are brilliant just chuck your stuff in the back and off you go, oh and it helps the passenger stay on the back when fighting that second gear pull !!. And i´ve put a black belly pan on to try stop that winter rot of dissolving salt. I thought it was the fastest bike i´d been on untill i rode my dad´s blackbird you think its´ maybe 60 mph until you look at the speedo which shows 85 mph these bikes are SILENTLY quick. These days Burbery boy racers usually saxo´s and golf´s with loud pipes and no action sometimes dare to race the bikes and are really no problem i only change gear twice and they are reduced to a small picture in my mirror in less than 8 secs by which time i´ve hit 100 mph and i have to brake a bit to comply with the speed limit... oops, One car i did have fun with was a black Honda Civic integra type R, bikers beware ! some of these are fast with full blown engine mods we can´t see. They look standard but no no no they are not it´s suprising i´ll tell you. And i do ride fast when i don´t smell bacon !! And as many bikers will know VTR´s are good wheely bikes you can pop the front very easy in first but this is bad for transmission and fork yokes so i seldom do this. Services are reasonable and it doesn´t shread back tires like my mates R1 or maybe im just been kind to the clutch.. ? WATCH FOR THE GATSO´S AND MOBILE BACON UNITS !! and safe riding folks
