Why Is Getting the Right Bike Height Important for Anyone?

This may sound like a simple question, but there is a good reason. When I went to the big bike riding course, the first thing we did was to sit on the bike and see if our feet could reach the ground and if we could rock the bike left and right. According to our instructor, this is important for safety reasons.

The same principle applies no matter what gender you are. If you can’t reach the ground when sitting on the bike, it’s too high for you. While balancing the bike isn’t an issue when it’s already running, it will be inconvenient for you when you’re at a traffic stop or need to park and get on or off your bike.

There is a recommended height for each motorcycle. However, if you’re of short stature, it’s not completely impossible to ride a bike. Believe it or not, I have personally seen short riders on big bikes.

Here is a sample video I found on Youtube. The point of this sample video is that a person of small stature can ride a motorcycle. It’s just a matter of strategy, style, and experience:

The Seat Height Matters

If you’re an experienced rider, the seat height is irrelevant. However, for first-time riders, the idea of a big bike is sometimes an automatic no-no simply because they are big and wide. However, they frequently overlook that not all bikes are created equal.

The seat height on many motorcycle models differs from one another. Some bikes may be big and wide, but short riders can still ride them.

Final Words

The best way to choose a motorcycle is to go to the dealership and sit on a bike. Check if you can easily swing your leg on the bike, reach the ground, and sway the bike left and right. This will allow you to ride it like a queen.
