Photo Info: This is a two year restoration of a GS 550 MZ Katana that sat in an open hay barn for ten years. Modifications include cylinder head milled 0.020, 650 cams, iridium sparkplugs , and header of unknown make as well as new rings, seals and timing chain. Further plans are to install a Dynojet 3 kit next spring. I purchased parts off Ebay and Bikebandit and stripped the bike down to the last bolt. The wiring harness was completely burned up but surprisingly I replaced it and the stator , installed an Electrix regulator/rectifier and all the electrical and ignition components work fine. Future plans may include installing a 650 cylinder block and pistons which only require a bit of relieving of the crankcase for the cylinder spigots to fit or building another engine block to this spec.
