This is actually a VF700F Interceptor, the U.S. model "tariff beater." The piston stroke was shortened in 1985 to lower displacement to 699cc, avoiding the import tax on models over 700cc. Thank you Harley-Davidson for this brilliant piece of legislation.
I am the second owner of this fine example of an Interceptor. All original except the custom exhaust, and the fuel tank, which was subject to a respray and incorrect decal. If anyone has a lead on a pristine replacement tank, email me please!
